It may be low-tech, but my trailer hitch was enough to stop a would-be thief cold in his tracks. I was standing about 15 feet away from my car with my back to it and heard “thunk”, and then screaming,”Arrrgh!” I turned around to find a man lying on the ground grasping his shin, one of my cloth grocery bags sitting on the ground next to him. I grabbed the bag and he hobbled away. The only thing in the bag? A roll of toilet paper. Theft averted.
