Sheet rock is hell

So glad we’ve graduated to a point in our lives where all we have to do is the demo work and then pay the professionals to do the part we don’t like to do. Sheet rockers and painters are coming in next week to fix this former stain above the 2nd story bathroom at the cabin. It turns out the 3rd-story toilet leaked when a renter decided it was cool to flush an entire bar of soap down it.

Hike in tunnel takes dark turn

Our normal hike near the cabin took a dark turn this memorial weekend. In fact it took several. We decided to walk into the western entrance to the now trackless Central Pacific Railway snow sheds. Just dark enough to be eerie, they are a gathering place for local graffiti artists and the walls are covered with constantly-changing street art. I could walk in here all day, but the group decided to turn back before long. But not before I could capture a few bits of local graffiti.

Missing Photos Opened for First Time!

Like suddenly running into a long-lost friend, I was overwhelmed with a flood of good feelings yesterday when I was able to open a disk of previously-stubborn jpg’s. For the first time since the McClelland family reunion in 2005, I was able to gaze upon more than 30 photos of the event-including the only good group shot known to exist.
