Lisa’s Birthday Poem

April 30th, 2006 · 1 Comment

We finally got around to celebrating Lisa’s birthday. I made an effort to find the ultimate present, but was thwarted again and again. Did you know that pet stores don’t sell dogs anymore?

Here’s the poem that I put together at the last minute. Lisa reminded me that the last time I wrote her a poem

The Universe According to Patrick

April 28th, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Daddy’s note: One day on a drive home, Patrick began spewing forth his views of the universe. This is an account of his version of the Earth, the stars and the planets. I don’t know where he learned it, but I swear that this

Photobooth

April 5th, 2006 · Leave a Comment

If you’ve never played with Apple’s new Photo Booth software I highly recommend it. It’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face as you distort your own image in live video. It’s hard not to crack up laughing. I put together a quick photo album of the fun we had while visiting the Apple store and while playing on Dad’s new iMac.

March 1st, 2006 · 1 Comment

Early this morning my Uncle Jim McClelland lost his too-short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. James B. McClelland was my favorite uncle, perhaps my favorite relative, and it pains us all greatly to lose him. I will remember always his amiable manner, his relaxed quiet demeanor and his love for life.

The book I bought for Lisa on Valentine’s day because I chanced to pick it up and chanced to turn to a page that said “I love you!” in big bold letters turned out to be an inspirational tome about enjoying life and

POW and POW book get page on Moosburg Online

January 29th, 2006 · Leave a Comment

James P. McClelland got his own page on the thorough website Moosburg Online. The site also plugs the book Name Rank and Serial Number the POW story written by James and edited by J. Thomas McClelland. The copy on the webpage was also written by Tom and includes excerpts from the book. Tom sells the book more for a legacy than for profit, but enjoys doing it.

I have been giving a short talk on my Dad’s experiences at various service clubs in our area. I have a bigger Vet’s Club as an audience scheduled for May 4th. I sell a few books and enjoy the time.

Jenette’s Funeral

January 29th, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I never fought with the desire to do my very best on this, I only embraced it. The result was a video–shown in front of a few hundred people–that elicited sobs, laughter and, from a lot of people, praise and thanks. It was a moment of pure pride to honor the life of a friend.
