Patrick and Emily win Pinewood Derby-Coolest Car (as judged by parents)
April 5th, 2009 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
Patrick and Emily entered their latest Pinewood Derby cars and finished near the back of the pack. They may have finished dead-last in most heats, but you can’t say they didn’t have the coolest cars. We rallied for a new category in next year’s event–coolest car– but we’ll have to wait and see what happens. [Read more →]

I Am (A Poem by Emily McClelland)
April 3rd, 2009 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
I Am…
I am adventurous and shy.
I hear birds chirping in the morning.
I see a steep mountain I’d like to roll down.
I am adventurous and shy.
I pretend my life is a story.
I touch a soft cloud in my bed.
I am adventurous and shy.
I understand that I have to grow up.
I dream tomorrow will be a better day.
I am adventurous and shy.
I am Emily.

Happy Birthday (s)
March 26th, 2009 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
Happy Birthday to the two women that matter most in my life: my mother and my wife. Whether it’s a blessing or a curse that these two share the same anniversary of their birth, one thing’s for sure: It makes it easy to remember. So while I’m currently “on the road” and unable to take place in the celebrations of these two birthdays, I can’t help but think of the two woman who have most helped make me who I am today.
And so, before it gets sappy, please help me in wishing a Happy Birthday to Lisa and Karen on their special days.

Three McClellands

Just goofing off at the computer one day. Then dad gets the idea to give a wet willy. House rules: if you get caught you must submit for “the finalization”, a final dose of dominance -hot breath in the victim’s wet ear!

The Shave, a Possibly Offensive Video
February 2nd, 2009 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
One Rule: No shaving until I’m done remodeling the kitchen. Well enough with the itching, enough with the Yukon Cornelious jokes, enough with the counting of gray hairs. It’s time to shave! Then I figured, “Let’s make a video of it!”

Dusting the Cob-Webs From Turks and Caicos
January 19th, 2009 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
It’s not that we don’t want to ever forget the once-in-a-lifetime trip that we took to Turks and Caicos last year. (But we don’t.) It’s not that I had already almost forgotten how to spell the name of the destination island in the West Indies and simply needed the practice. (But I had.)
It’s just that today came across a [Read more →]

Just a quick video (2:18) showing the complete chaos of our kitchen and family room after a late night of setting tile on the backsplash. Alternate title: “Why I have more gray hairs in my beard”.

Kramer calls it quits after 133 dog years
November 26th, 2008 · Submitted by Newsboy (Tom) · Leave a Comment ·

The most recent canine in the household of Tom and Gretcen McClelland, Kramer, went through a few months of tough times before dying in November. He had a good life where he was spoiled rotten by his masters. He was well traveled and loved greatly. He was 19 actual years old…and those are human years.
At the end he was deaf, listless, and did his doodies wherever he was situated. He has gone to a better place.
He is survived by fellow mutt Elaine, a sister of sorts. Both dogs were named for characters in the Seinfeld TV series.
