Wassermanns bring home baby Lauren

December 10th, 2003 by Steve · Leave a Comment ·

Mike and Jody Wassermann received a phone call one Saturday night in December. A woman in New York was about to have a baby and they had been chosen as the adoptive parents. The couple flew to New York the following Monday and witnessed the birth of their baby girl the day after that.
Lauren Wassermann was born 4 weeks premature, but healthy and happy. She touched the tape at 19″ and tipped the scales at 5lbs., 12 oz. The couple were chosen by the birth-mother in a process known as an open adoption, where the birth parents hand-select their baby’s adoptive parents. Lauren is the couples’ second child, and the younger sister to Kaitlyn.

Lauren captured the hearts of the entire family
the day she was brought home.
