HAPPY 76TH TO NORMA SUE!
May 4th, 2007 · Submitted by Newsboy (Tom) · 1 Comment ·
To my Favorite Sister:
I procrastinated too long. No b-day card this year. Doesn’t mean I don’t remember. Our birth dates being exactly 18 months apart, I can never forget.
So…
HAPPY 76TH TO NORMA SUE
There…I feel better.
I had a sixth grade sub assignment today and it went swimingly compared to 7th grade a week earlier. Go figure. I worked 6 days in this pay period, good for [Read more →]

Parenting 101

Despite the recent movement to promote kids who aren’t perfect (there’s even a book), Lisa and I will sit back and glow with pride after our parenting skills paid off last week. Emily came home Sunday night and received a phone call that she had been selected for [Read more →]

Thanks, Foster/Syme
March 23rd, 2007 · Submitted by Steve · 3 Comments ·
The Foster/Syme development group recently purchased the Royal Gorge cross-country ski resort along with a ton of other land around Serene Lakes (where our cabin is) including the bottom of the lake. When they revealed their plans which include 950 condominiums and single-family homes, a lot of people at the public meeting drank the Kool-Aid [Read more →]

Honor Roll Student…Again!
March 13th, 2007 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
Emily breezed into her school’s honor roll for outstanding grades for the second consecutive trimester. She missed the Principle’s Honor Roll–a distinction for “straight-A” students–by only one grade. It would have been the second consecutive trimester for [Read more →]

Plannning a fraternity reunion

I am Tom McClelland, and I have met sporadically with brothers of Theta Chi at what we called mini-reunions. We were students at San Jose State College (now university) in the 1950s. We have had ten of these meetings, groups no bigger than 30 brothers, throughout Northern California—and througout the years. In fact, I hosted two of them. At last summer's gathering in Fremont, CA, a guy named Vern Perry started promoting the [Read more →]

Using Picassa
January 31st, 2007 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
I may have a new method of posting photo albums on the web. Click on the photo on the left to see one of my first Picasa albums. It may not be quite as slick as the ones I’ve been serving up at McClellandfamily.com, but I spent quite a bit of time on those, and this one took me all of about 5 minutes. Using Picasa to create some pretty vanilla albums I should be able to get these babies up a lot more often.
Picasa is a free software download from [Read more →]

Go elf yourself!

(Note from Steve: Before you go clicking on all the links below and wondering why they don’t work, I should tell you that Office Max has removed all of the previously created elves from their servers. I only leave this post here because they still offer the free service every year and it’s fantastic to use during the Christmas season.) The one year that I wasn’t able to play #1 Elf at my employer’s Christmas breakfast (due to budgetary constraints, I imagine) I discovered this seasonal web site. It’s called Elf Yourself, and unfortunately I’m too late to tell my bosses to [Read more →]

Christmas Eve at Autumn Gold Court
December 24th, 2006 · Submitted by Steve · Leave a Comment ·
Things can get a bit chaotic with a decent-size crowd in our smallish house on Christmas eve, and we might be forgiven if we don’t manage to take a kazillion pictures. We only took a few, but we did want to share them here. Click the link or the photo on the right to see the album.
